ISDN can give you Internet access at up to 128 kbit/s (by combining
both channels), compared to up to 56 kbit/s with a modem. Data takes
less time to download, so the phone charges are less. The connection
is more reliable and doesn't drop as frequently. There's no wait for
modem handshaking. With ISDN you can give every desk access to the Internet
via a single connection, avoiding the need for dedicated PCs and individual
subscriptions to service providers.
