Colin Charles James, an Antiguan national, takes on the mantle of leadership
of Cable & Wireless Dominica effective June 1. He holds an MBA from
Baruch College the City University of New York and has claim to a wide
range of experiences at various levels within Cable & Wireless.
According to Mr. James, commitment, dedication and vision are some of
the qualities that would contribute to the success of his tenure at Cable
& Wireless. “A true demonstration of commitment embraces positive
human behaviour and attitude and translates that into what becomes development,
efficiency, innovation and action,” he says. “A committed leader with
a dedicated and supportive team will transform any organization into a
highly successful entity.
“I am privileged to lead the team that will take Cable & Wireless
to a new plateau of success and achievement. I have observed that the
most successful teams, whether in the field of battle, sport, learning
or business possess the attributes that equate to giving oneself alongside
others in the interest of mutual development. The fabric of Cable &
Wireless comprises men and women dedicated to development. That is why
Cable & Wireless has maintained a pristine reputation for the delivery
of excellence, quality and efficiency.”
He continues, “These are the qualities that have brought me to Cable
& Wireless and to Dominica.”
Mr. James has twenty-two (22) years' experience in a telecommunications
environment, many of which have been served in Marketing and Customer
Relations including Marketing Manager with Cable and Wireless USA. He
has also worked regionally as Area Customer Services Manager, Leeward
Islands as well as Head of Customer Services Antigua. Mr. James also holds
a BTEC Higher National Diploma in Engineering. He recently held the position
of Acting Chief Executive for the Cable & Wireless St. Kitts and Nevis
business.
The new Cable & Wireless Dominica Chief Executive says that his first
order of business includes, “maintaining the financial viability of the
Company by controlling costs, growing revenues - particularly in our mobile
sector and doing the things that we have done even better to keep the
business sustainable.” Other priorities involve the constant improvement
of the image of Cable & Wireless, focus on people development, and
ensuring that Cable & Wireless remains Dominica’s communications provider
of choice.
“It is an honor to take on the responsibility for Cable & Wireless
Dominica. I look forward to working with the team that has contributed
to the actualization of this successful organization, and to taking the
business forward.
